Dress Code
The dress code for Harris Federation Post 16 is designed to create the right environment for learning.
Boys
• Smart trousers
• Formal shirt and tie
• Suit jacket or blazer
• Formal shoes
Girls
• Smart trousers or skirt (must be at least to the knee)
• Blouse or shirt with collar
• Suit jacket or blazer
• Formal shoes
Jackets may be removed in warm conditions. Scarves may be worn outside the buildings but must be removed once inside. In cold weather you may wear a plain T shirt of the same colour under your shirt but this must not be visible.
PE students
PE students should wear black shorts or tracksuit bottoms and a Harris Federation Post 16 polo shirt or appropriate kit as designated by each site. These are purchased from your base site Academy via your PE teacher.
Performing Arts
Performing Arts/Studies students should dress as follows for lessons:
Female students: Black fitted t-shirt with Harris federation logo, black full length jazz pants (plain and unmarked) - female cut and black split sole jazz shoes.
Male students: Black t-shirt with Harris federation logo, black full length jazz pants (plain and unmarked) – unisex cut and black split sole jazz shoes.
All jewellery will need to be removed, including belly button piercings. Students should wear minimal make up and should have short nails. Acrylic nails will need to be removed. Hair should be tied up during workshops. The correct clothing will be available to purchase at different academies. Students will be provided with a list of recommended retailers for the shoes.
As this is a practical course and you will be performing in lessons, the above kit guidelines will need to be enforced at all times. Failure to wear the correct kit will prevent you from participating in workshops and performances thereby jeopardising your grades.
