You are beginning the next stage of your education with the Harris Federation, which comprises of six Harris Academies working together to provide an outstanding educational opportunity for you.

Changing world

Our world is changing rapidly and Harris Federation Post 16 will adapt with these changes to ensure that you are ready to meet these developments by constantly evaluating economic and employment trends such as the following:
 

  • By 2020 there will be 3 million fewer low skilled jobs in Britain than there are today

  • Over 40% of all jobs in 2020 will require a graduate qualification

  • The top ten jobs that exist in 2011 did not exist in 2004

  • Today’s learners will have more than ten jobs by age 38

  • Britain will need 324,000 more scientists and engineers by 2014

  • In the past ten years there have been 12 jobs created in the knowledge industries for every one created elsewhere.

Our ethos

You are joining a Post Sixteen Federation that has an ethos focused around professionalism, achievement and mutual respect. This ethos will hold all stakeholders to account for their performance, through extremely high expectations and aspirations.
 
However, you will receive excellent support and mentoring to ensure you realise your aspirations. This will enable you to achieve your true potential and access your next pathway without any restriction, facing the challenges that society will bring with confidence
